Lunar New Year

Chinese New Year is the time of the year where we play firecrackers, receive angpaos, gamble, go visiting, reunion breakfast/lunch/dinner, eat cookies, tidbits, mandarin oranges, yee sang, NON STOP EATING!

It is also the time of the year where people from overseas come back home to reunite with close ones, just like how my eldest brother comes back from UK to celebrate the Lunar New Year with us and relatives.

Usually we would go back to my grandfather's place in Pahang to celebrate CNY. On CNY day's eve, we would have a big reunion dinner with the family and relatives. We would also prepare a table with offerings to welcome the God of Prosperity to enter the house, a ceremony commonly practiced by not only us but the whole kampung as well. Once the clock hits 12am, we would exchange greetings and angpaos. Sound of firecrackers could be heard through the whole night, like a machine gun being fired.

On the first day of CNY, we would put on our new clothes and then have a small tea ceremony in the house. First, my grandfather would be sitting, while each of us take turns to offer a cup of tea to him, kneeling down and wishing him with the usual greetings like "身体健康, 万事如意, 龙马精神", and then we would be rewarded with angpaos.

This year was a bit different. Since my grandfather passed away 4 months ago, we are not supposed to celebrate CNY. We couldn't visit other people's house, we couldn't distribute angpaos(but we can receive), it is a culture/taboo we would practice, or "pantang" as we would call it. We are in the state of mourning as my parents say. We could not attend people's birthday or wedding events, afraid that we might transfer some of our bad luck to them. We could not even Pai Ti Kong, celebrate the Jade Emperor's Birthday.

So instead of heading back Pahang like usual, we went back Bukit Mertajam, Penang to celebrate with my grandmother and aunty. Motherside no pantang, so it is okay.

Ate and drank a lot, practically eating almost every time of the day. Before the food i ate for lunch could digest, i am already getting ready to eat my dinner.

Visited the temple at Kek Lok Si in Penang Island, SUPER DUPER JAM, couldn't head to the top to see the Gigantic Guan Yin Ma statue.

Yesterday was the 7th day of the New Year, also called 人日, which is everybodies' birthday. So... Happy Birthday everybody!

By the time you all are reading this, i would already be at Penang celebrating CNY with my family and relatives.

With no internet access here for the next few days, i would be busy stuffing myself with lots of wonderful food, receive angpaos, play a bit of fireworks and probably prawn fishing : D

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR 2012! May the year of the Dragon bring everybody good health(most important), lots of wealth, prosperity, and may everything be smooth sailing ahead!

Funny how i'm using BM for my recent post titles...
Went Ampang this morning with my dad as he met with a little accident the day before. He is totally fine and the car has a little scratch. The radiator was damaged in the accident, therefore rendering the car unable to be used.

Headed down to a relatives' house at Ampang to borrow a car as we were planning to drive up to Penang for CNY.

At the workshop, more like a Car Mortuary

Two little accidents were involved. First he bumped a kancil and myvi at the traffic light. The myvi in front of the kancil had a little dent and my dad just paid the myvi for the damage as he was rushing to meet a customer.

Second one happened at another traffic light, the lorry in front was slowly rolling down the slope and the driver forgotten to apply the brakes. Knocked the front of my dad's car, the radiator was damaged and so he got the car towed to a workshop.

Went to the workshop at Segambut this morning to get the car fixed.

Then i drove my relatives manual car back to Ampang.

Wasn't really used to a "joystick" as the last time i drove a manual was during my driving license examination. Was quite proud of myself : )

Foot was really sore as i had to keep pressing the clutch which was higher than the kancil i used to drive during my driving lessons. Plus the fact that i played basketball last night, my foot hurt abit but it was okay.

Car died a few times and it jerked a little while and then, but I slowly got used to it. Managed to get through the heavy traffic while following the back of my dads' car.

Tough luck for the start of a new year huh dad... May everything be smooth sailing for the upcoming year.

Yes. Exams has ended. Therefore... I'm FREE~!

Those long weeks of studying, countless cups of coffee, writing and remembering equations and definitions.

Was almost unaware of what was happening around me, felt like a zombie, half alive, was blur most of the time.

Being buried in tons of lecture notes and papers IS not fun. Studying IS tiring!
Neglected my exercise routine as well just for the sake of exams.

Remembered playing basketball last week, i only played like 3 matches and i was already panting. At one point, i was so tired i nearly fainted. Blood gushing up my head and eyes, i decided to stop playing and head back home.

Glad all that is over.

So my second year, first semester of exams has started.
Todays' paper was Separation Process 1, didn't go well.
Every question was left hanging halfway.
As usual, didn't know I had to answer only 3 out of the 4 questions. Anyway, it didn't harm if i did 4(maybe equivalent to only 1 when all the
answers i wrote are added up), because the best 3 out of the 4 questions answered will be considered.
No wonder i didn't have enough time to finish the exam, was panicking towards the last half hour of the exam.
Negative thoughts started pouring in.
Thought that i wasn't suit to be in engineering, thought that my chances for the exchange program to the UK Campus is nil,
thought that i would fail this exam and had to resit for it.

Did i study hard? Yes i did. Did i try my best? Certainly. Who to blame? Nobody but myself.

Coursemates said that the paper was difficult anyway, sure made me feel a little better.

Felt disappointed since some of the questions were repeated from the Past Year Paper.
I absolutely did all the past year questions, but somehow i just forgotten at the last minute.

Preparing for the next paper now. Will continue to try my best : /

Particle Mechanics was good today. As expected, questions consisted mostly of definitions and explanation.
We were told beforehand that we had to memorise the equations, they are not provided in the exams.

Before entering the exam hall, everybody could be seen memorising their equations, murmuring, moving their lips without making any noises,
staring blankly at the ceiling or the wall, trying to memorise ALL THOSE equations.

After all the effort of memorising those bloody equations, I remembered only solving one question using an equation. Besides that, that particular equation was provided.

2 more papers to go before i can revert back to the old me. I miss doing normal things and basketball.

I feel so weak and inferior around them.
I am the last person they would ask if they didn't know how to solve a question.
I always feel like i'm not part of the discussion.
It's as if i'm left behind, so much further away from them.
I am sitting around them, yet they prefer to ask the other housemate sitting upstairs
I don't know why but somehow i feel pissed
They just ignore me...
I am not worried if they see this, they don't even know i have a blog

I feel... sad, frustrated, hopeless

sometimes i feel as if i am in the wrong course, taking the wrong path of life, they make me feel... bad

still, i am grateful to have them as housemates and coursemates.
i can always refer to them whenever i didn't know how to answer a question.
or i could just borrow their solution and refer to it.
or i could ask them to teach me.

when exams season are here, there is this feeling of desperation lingering in the air.
what is the answer to this question; why is it like this but not that; why are there so many equations to memorise, how did you get that answer.
so many distractions...

A Whole New Year

Had an awesome bbq party at friends' house with a bunch of friends.

Today is the first day of the new year 2012, time sure flies.

Have i regretted for what i have done in 2011? Yes and no.

Yes i may have not been utilising my time wisely, still sticking to the same old habits, o stubborn me.

No i have learnt alot last year.
I have learnt to be more matured(although i am still not)
I have learnt to be kind and patient
I have learnt not to be jealous of others
I have learnt how to cook

In fact, i learnt something at the bbq yesterday, friends' dad dripped some candle wax into the burning charcoal, he says it will help in the burning of the charcoal. After having so many bbq sessions, it was my first time seeing that. We will never and should not stop learning as long as we are still living.

Like my lecturer used to say with his Russian accent: "Tell me your answer and commit your mistakes now, it is good for you to learn from it than regret from it later."

所谓, 不经一事，不长一智

Have i achieved my 2011 New Years Resolution?
1 & 2 maybe not, but 3 4 and 5 still has room for improvement.

This years 2012 New Year Resolution will be:
1. yes, still trying to Slam Dunk
2. Secure an internship
3. Participate in a 10km or more marathon
4. at least finish playing a song on the piano without making mistakes
5. survive 2012 as the world is coming to an end : þ

Larian Kitar Semula 2011

Took part in the Larian Kitar Semula yesterday that was organised by Jabatan Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal Negara(The Solid Waste Management Association of Malaysia).

Woke up at 5am. My friend Han Qi picked me up and we reached Putrajaya at 6am.

Registered and got ourselves a T-Shirt and two bibs.

Didn't pay a single cent for this run but got ourselves a very good quality T-shirt. In order to participate, we had to bring recyclable items such as newspapers or bottles, our so called "participation fees". I must say it is a wonderful event and should be held more often. Promotes sustainability and recycling, very healthy event indeed. Not only allowing us to save Mother Earth but also saving ourselves from having that big fat belly.

There were a total of 8 categories if not mistaken. We registered for the 7km Male Adult category.

Forgotten to bring a watch therefore didn't know how long i took to finish the run, probably 45 minutes? Was satisfied to get a medal as not all participants were eligible to get it, only the first 500 of all categories combined. So i guess i was in the top 100? Optimistic : )

What a coincidence, met Shaun Adam, my ex-highschoolmate at the event too. He came by himself and we caught up with him.

After the run, we were eager to wait till the lucky draw as there were racing bikes to be won. Although we were tired and had to stand and wait, but it was exciting knowing that we had a chance to win such a beautiful bike, there were 3 in total!

The moment the emcee mentioned "E", we all kept looking at our bibs and started praying, hoping our number will be called. Unfortunately, we didn't win anything. How unlucky : (

Earlier, i actually saw a Malay guy kneeling down and praying for a few seconds, before dropping his bib into the lucky draw box... I WANT THAT BIKE!!!

Besides that, a few booths were demonstrating their arts and crafts made from recycled items. One booth was selling compost for RM10 per bag as well.

The reason i took part in this run was to test myself. I wanted to see whether i can run 7km. Before this i took part in a 4km run, i've got 10th place. I don't know how i fared in this run but i have proved myself that i am capable of running 7km.

When you try your best and you don't succeed...

Stuck in reverse...

Last 2 month, decided to test my capabilities and took part in the basketball tryouts in uni.
Selected players will be able to represent the uni in the Tri-Campus games organised annually where students from the UK and Ningbo Nottingham University campus meet to compete in various sport events.
This year, Nottingham University UK campus will be hosting the games.
Turns out that i was not up to standard, hence i didn't make it, and hence unable to go to UK for the event.

Disappointed.

Took part in the basketball league organised by our uni sports council.
Played a match yesterday with one of the top teams with many great players.
Definitely lost to them by 4 points(27-31).

Can't blame it on the awesome referee(ONLY ONE REFEREE, great?)

The blame is on me, i didn't play very well, i didn't make as many passes as i could, i went solo, i wanted to prove myself, ended up making many turnovers, mistakes, missed shots, i sucked.

Well, that's what you get for trying to fly solo.

I will continue to train even harder.

Losing is normal. I never take it too seriously. I learn from it, but it seems i haven't been learning much.

Learnt about this phrase through an online flash game, whackyourboss.com. The game is designed for people who hate their bosses and it is a place for them to manage their anger.

At the end of each "whacking", the person will take out his mp3 player and listen to this phrase keep repeating over and over again with the sound of the sea behind, :"No When. No Want. No Worry."

So where did this phrase come from? Searched about it on the net and it came out to be from the Tsunami incident back in 2004.

There was this tribe called "The Moken", who lives in the Andaman Sea of SouthEastAsia. They spend most of their time on the ocean. They all survived the Tsunami because they all knew that the Tsunami was coming.

This interviewer asked them how old were they, they didn't know. Most of their time is spent on fishing or swimming at the sea. All they think about is NOW, they do not have a word for WHEN.

They also do not have a word for WANT. They either "have" or "need".

So when you have No When, No Want... you have No Worry.

You would not be worried about the time, wanting to finish your assignment before the deadline...
You would not be worried about wanting something, wanting a new shoe, a new laptop or a new car...
You have no attachment, nothing to tie you down, therefore no worry.

I hate it. It makes you keep thinking of something(maybe someone?) you have just feeled, watched, smelled or heard.
An example, your over-priced handphone that enables you to do almost everything with it, can you leave it aside for one day? Not replying any calls or messages for one whole day? CAN YOU?
Or, not checking people statuses and updates on Twitter(i don't tweet) or FACEBOOK! CAN YOU?

In the Buddhist context, attachments causes suffering. We keep thinking about that something and we cannot focus on the things we are currently doing, our mind is not at peace, we are in SAMSARA(suffering).

For me, i don't know is it only me or what but after reading a book i always have this feeling of attachment. I don't want the story to end, I feel a sense of sadness and regret. I hate this feeling.

After watching movies(especially romance), i don't want it to end, i want it to just go on, continue, never stop. I remebered watching "A Walk To Remember", after watching it i keep thinking about the movie, i borrowed my friends' book to read(finished it on the day itself) and i looked for the information regarding the movie such as bloopers, casts, triva etc. I came to like Mandy Moore, looked for more of her info on the net.
Same thing happened for "You Are The Apple Of My Eye". I must admit Michelle Chen has a very sweet smile and personality, keep thinking about her. Besides, the soundtrack of the movie is stucked in my head, keep humming to the tune. I wonder when am i going to stop this... Give me another week, probably i will forget about it, i hope...

Watched the movie "You are the apple of my eye" or 那些年，我們一起追的女孩. Awesome romantic movie of all time. It is funny and romantic at the same time. Bunch of great actors and actresses, especially the actress, Michelle Chen 陳妍希 , suits her role very well, she has a very good and obedient girl look with the dimple by the side of her mouth <3. I can say it's one of the first Taiwanese movie i have ever watched(or not, can't remember, yes i am a sad sad person).
Rate it 9/10, 1 point less till perfect 10 because they didn't get together at the end : (

BGF Food and Fun Fair 2011

Last weekend, attended the BGF Food and Funfair 2011 which was held at SJK(C) Yuk Chai at Taman Megah. The event was held because Buddhist Gem Fellowship(BGF) were raising funds to build their new centre.

Me and a group of volunteers from uni together attended the event representing our Nottingham Buddhist Society.

We were there in the morning from 7am to around 4pm.

Many people came to our games booth, testing their luck on winning big fluffy toys

We were divided into a few groups and were given different jobs.

I was in charged of the games booth while some of them were in charged of the face painting booth, cake booth etc.

There were many booths selling various products. Cakes, vegetable, books & stationeries, organic food, desserts, and more. There was even a massage service booth, where you get a body massage for 20 minutes by disabled blind men.

All of us were given RM 10 worth of coupon to spend and i spent mine all on food : p

At the end of the day, we were extremely tired but we had loads of fun and enjoyed ourselves very much.

Besides that, we were able to bring home loads of freebies/leftovers. Took back some vegetables such as brinjal, tomatoes, cabbage to cook, some apples too. There were boxes and boxes of it and some of it were donated to the temples around KL.

Just finished watching V for Vendetta. Extremely happy with my new profile picture thanks to Cek Siang.

At the fair, i asked my friend Cek Siang to draw a beard for me using the face painting pastels, but he added some mustache as well. Noticed that i look like V from the movie even though i have not watched the movie at that time.

Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman are such great actors... Nice movie.

Masak Masak

Me and my housemates have been cooking our own meals whenever we can. Most of the time we prepare dinner rather than lunch since most of us will be at home in the evening or night.

Until today, i think we have cooked at least 6 times(or more).

So here are the pictures of the meals we prepared.

Green Thai Curry(cooked by my mum, reheated only, extremely nice but extremely spicy!), Egg with tomato, Nuggets, Sardine fish with onions, Aubergine with shredded meat

Notice how almost every dish involves EGGS. Eggs... who doesn't love eggs... I Like Eggs~(quote: Debbie from "The Amanda Show", used to watch this on Nickelodeon)

I finally feel how my mum feels(SHE IS THE BEST COOK!) when she comes up with different dishes to satisfy our appetite. She would prepare different dishes everyday, sometimes spending half the day in the kitchen preparing the meals. For us, before we cook we would ask each other:"What do we want to have today"; "who is going to cook today"; "do we have enough ingredients..." and so on.

No doubt cooking is fun. It is fun experimenting with different ingredients, will learn to cook more elaborate dishes in the future and will definitely post them here.

Weekends

Everybody looks forward to the weekends, it's like the 2 free holidays of the week in a year.

Friday... friday... getting down on friday...

Instead of going out for movies with friends or relaxing, i worry about finishing my maths exercise or revising my notes.

It is my second year of studying engineering in the university. I have always been having doubts on pursuing this course. In the first place why did i even
choose to pursue this course, i do not know.

Peer pressure?
My brother is an engineer,
My aunty is a process engineer.
My relatives are engineers.
So everybody would think that i should follow their steps and pursue engineering as well...

Have been joking with my housemates about opening a restaurant or stall around TTS. We would joke about having pork on our menu, since our university
cafeteria serves only halal food.

We would joke about opening a Lok Lok stall and imagine all the univeristy students coming to our stall to eat.

Or a Dessert Shop next to the Lok Lok stall, probably something like Snowflakes.

WHY STUDY SO HARD? Go sell chicken rice also can become millionaire!

Watched "The 3 Idiots" last week, was talking about this issue, why study something you are not interested in, but study it because your parents want you to or study it because everybody else is studying it(even your neighbours' dogs).

These days, looking for a job outside can be so difficult, need to be the cream of the crop in order to get into a good company. Simply throwing a stone also will hit a graduate with First Class Honours.

I have become more like a nerd now, it's for the best, for my future...

I will try my best to suit in...

It's going to be very difficult... i'll need to sacrifice most of my time... i'll never give up.

One morning, had a stomachache, decided to defecate.

Left the classroom and entered the Mens. It was unusually quiet since it was 9am in the morning and almost everybody are attending their classes.

Entered a cubicle and passed motion.

Heard somebody entered the cubicle beside me.

The awkward feeling when you are shitting beside another person, only separated by a thin plastic wall, still able to hear and see the foot of the person next door.

I tried to play cool, releasing the load slowly without making any noise.

Next thing i know, i hear the person beside making those noises women make when they try to push a baby out of their Vagina...

"uuhh... uhhh...." then suddenly, *plook!*
"aahhhh..."

Weird... awkward... embarrassing... never want to encounter this situation ever again.

Got a new haircut last Saturday.

Waited for around 45 minutes before it was my turn.

Satisfied with my new haircut but was a bit afraid when the barber was cutting my hair

Knew he was a newbie from the way he cut my hair, the way he held the scissors, the way he hesitated to cut off the big chunk of hair off the back of my head.

Kept looking at my hair through the mirror the whole time, was afraid that i have to go bald(going bald is not a bad idea...)

He looks like a young teenager, had some patience and decided to give him a chance, just like how i think the society should give every freshies a chance.

Felt so relieved when the lady boss took over.

For RM 15, i get a haircut, free hair wash and some styling tips. The Lady Boss even styled my hair with some wax and spray before i left. Back in Subang, i pay RM 18 for just a haircut but i admit the hair stylist is much quicker...

Home Alone 99

I really like the feeling of being home alone. Be it at my home in Subang when my parents and sister are out of the house, or be it at this house in TTS 3.

I feel like i have the sense of freedom, it feels like i'm living on my own, it feels great. The peace and quiet surrounding, allows me to focus and
allows me to get things done.

I have never stayed away from home for more than a week or two, i feel independant.
This is how it is going to feel like in the future, when i am staying away from home, far away from my family and friends. I have to get used to this feeling soon or else it will be difficult to leave them one day.

Last year when i was staying on campus, i didn't have this feeling as i was always going home on the weekends.

Gonna look up some simple recipes and try to cook my own meals, simple ones of course.

Really fortunate to have housemates who are experienced chefs, learning how to cook will be a breeze i hope : )

Week 1

It's been long since i updated my blog, still trying to figure out how to change to my desired blogskin, but ended up settling with the featured ones.

Finally has internet at home... YaY?!

First few weeks of Uni was hectic. Was busy with the BLOODY IchemE Career & Sports Day 2011 which was held at Monash University.
For the whole 4 months of summer break, i was constantly worrying about the event, checking my mailbox, sending mails, collecting informations and money.
By they way, forgive me for not mentioning that i was the student ambassador for my university in the event.
My job involves me liaising with the Monash Universities' Student ambassador, be it collecting prospective participants' details or conveying the messages
from the organisers to the participants.
The event was actually held for Chemical Engineers by Chemical Engineers. We were representing our uni's Chemical Engineering Students' Society(ChESS).
I used to be part of the commitee but i didn't make it for the 2nd year. Seeing that since nobody from the (NEW)commitee wants to take up the role of becoming
the student ambassador, i voluntarily chose to be it(me and my big mouth). Another reason was because i used to study at Sunway University College,
Monash University was just across the road and i felt that i know the venue better.
Anyway, i have learnt quite alot from this event, gained valuable experiences and glad that the event went on smoothly(and is finally over).

Moving on,

Joined the same old clubs as last year, Buddhist Society, Basketball Club(slit my throat if i didn't!), Nature Club and ChESS(why?! i forgotten...)

Was busy with getting ready for the Clubs and Societies Fair. During the CF fair, at one point i was promoting for the Nature Club, then i would go over
to the Buddhist Society booth to promote, later going to the Basketball Club booth to look out for the fresh faces and talents, i was everywhere!

Currently staying off campus with a bunch of coursemates, Taman Tasik Semenyih 3 (or TTS 3), a double story house with 4 rooms,
am sharing a room with my coursemate,
only 15 minutes walk to the bridge that links the TTS area and the uni.

Great housemates(will elaborate about them in the next post), great environment(Taman just opposite of the house equipped with a super run-down badminton
court, and SWINGS and chin up bars and benches...), great neighbours(Koreans living next door...)

Being third in the family means a lot of my stuff are passed down to me from my eldest brother, my second brother, then me. Sometimes, probably starting from my dad.

It could be anything, a book, a watch, a phone, a laptop, toys, or even clothes.

I seldom bought my own new things. The mobile phones i have been using until now has all been passed down to me.

It is not that i'm complaining, it is still usable, although a bit old but still good. I am grateful i get to use these things, I don't even have to pay a single cent to get it.

I am sure everybody loves new stuffs.

The moment you tear open the wrapper,
the moment you put it on/turn it on,
you look at yourself in the mirror,
you smell it, feel it, lick it (okay just kidding...),
it feels good, you feel proud, you feel happy and excited,
you take good care of it, protect it like your only child.

So when it's time for me to get myself something new, i feel annoyed and troublesome.

First you have to look at your budget, you have to choose the one you like, you have to scout for bargains, look at reviews, ask friends'/brothers'/forum-ers'/peoples'/dogs' opinion...
Especially when you are not updated with the current specs or prices, it is difficult.

Then, after buying that something, you tend to regret...
"oh i should have gotten those..."
"oh that one looks much better..."
"damn, this one actually sucks more than that one..."
you tend to want the best, you are never satisfied.

Currently, i am looking for a descent laptop for myself to use in university. The old laptop i have been using was passed down from my eldest bro, it is aged more than 7 years i guess.

3 months of summer break seems to pass in a blink of an eye. I have 1 more month of break before classes starts, where i enter into my second year in Chemical with Environmental Engineering.
I actually started my break since the 20th of May, freaking 4 months of break.

Some of my course mates prefer to go for internship, where they pay you as little as RM500 for your petrol money and allowance. I know we are going there to learn but it also depends on which company you intern at. I have a feeling we will just go there and learn very little and end up being their KULI. Carry this, carry that, help me take this, take that, collect data? I seriously don't know what would i expect during an internship, but no matter what i still have to do it at the end of my second year as it's compulsory if i want to get my Masters.

Instead of an internship, now i'm working as a waiter, at a Karaoke centre. My daily job is to welcome the customer, take orders, serve food, clean up after customer, occasionally becoming a kuli and carry the unused chairs or tables to another place to store. When there is no business, i either stand there and count the number of hairs on my hand or i play sudoko. I have actually learnt how to play sudoko thanks to my colleagues and am starting to like the puzzle game.

I feel that working over there, no offence, is a waste of time and you would not progress in life.
I am working there for the sake of money, for the sake of not wasting time at home staring at the computer all day, and also to prove my parents and brother wrong. They said i would not be successful in getting a job during my summer break.

I went for quite a number of interviews, looking for office jobs at first. Some were just too far and some were just... scams.

The title in the newspaper said "Event crew/On the road" or something, so i thought i would be a part time event crew helping out at events, for example Matta Fair or Education Fair. During the orientation, i only found out that i was supposed to walk around(literally under the hot sun and on the road) like a salesman you see at hawker centres or the street to sell... perfumes.

I am grateful for being able to see the different types of jobs out there. The things people do for a living. I am grateful i am able to study in a university, live in my parents house, enjoy home-cooked meals, don't need to worry about paying bills, and just be a good son.

I will appreciate the coming 3 years, where i will continue my studies at Nottingham University, because when you start working, like they said, life will be so much more sophisticated, you will be busy most of the time, no time for holidays/trips, no time for movies, hanging out less with friends and missing out in a lot of things.

I am getting older day by day, no WE are(unless you're Benjamin Button). I will be patient, i will endure, i will wait, i welcome you... LIFE.

There's Been A Death In The House

Not at the opposite house... not at my house... but at my Yeh Yeh's house...

He passed away peacefully last Friday, 12th of August 2011, age 83.

My yeh yeh was famous for his story telling. During family reunions, he would always repeat the same short stories or jokes. He usually told his stories and jokes in Cantonese and a little bit of other languages such as Malay. My father would always ask me to write them down or record it the next time he told it, but i thought it was unnecessary and i was feeling bored of the same old jokes since i've heard them umpteen times.

Now, even if i want to hear it for another time, i cannot. I regret for not listening to my father, it's too late now, my yeh yeh's gone.

My yeh yeh taught me many things when i was little. I used to stay with them(my mah mah and ku cheh) during the holidays(because i was such a nuisance at home that my parents decided to "buang negeri" me). He taught me Chinese calligraphy, taught me origami(he was very good at making grasshoppers), and i still remembered how to count in Tamil thanks to him.

I still remembered how he loved to sit on his rocking chair just outside the house, sometimes reading the chinese newspaper, or taking a puff on his cigarette.

I still remembered when he was strong enough to ride his bicycle to the coffeeshop to have his breakfast. He had a one-of-a-kind, ancient bicycle which only he could ride since he was 6 feet. I wonder where is his bicycle now, probably in a museum somewhere for display.

One of his favourite hobbies is bending the bonsais into Chinese characters.

This is "shou"or 寿, which means longevity

Wish he could have lived longer, but i guess life is too short.

We will always remember you, deep in our hearts.

May you be reborn in a higher plane and may you rest in peace, yeh yeh.

is the number of my hostel room. It's a six bedded flat, 3 rooms, 2 person per room.

Checked out of the hostel today at 12pm(right after my last exam at 11.30am, horrible, terrible, vegetable i tell you...). Packed my stuffs, took one last glance, handed the keys to the cleaner/person-in-charge, loaded my stuffs on dad's car and off we go!

Never really missed this place, although it has some good and bad... mostly bad...

The Good

Very near the sports complex. Just have to look out my bedroom window or balcony and i would know who is there to play basketball with.

The balcony. Get to hang my clothes there without worrying anybody stealing them. Get to sit there and enjoy the wind at night, best place to read a book at night.

Nearest hall to the Student Association building(which is where i get my food!) and the rest of the other buildings. There are a total of 5 halls : Tioman, the one i was staying in; Langkawi, Redang, Pangkor, and Kapas. As if by giving these halls such beautiful names would give you an impression that you would be staying at such lovely and peaceful islands, in your dreams!

No mosquito due to the higher altitude(forgotten to mention that i was staying at the second floor).

The Bad

The cleaners always do a bad job. We would need to make appointment for them to come clean the room. Looking at the logbook, they state that they require half an hour to clean up a room. But most of the time, they would spend less than 10 minutes to clean our 6 bedded flat, not room. Usually it will be this 3 cleaners, 1 plump indian lady, 1 malay lady and another indian lady. They would always put on a sour face and quickly get over with the cleaning, making no difference whether they cleaned the flat or not. In fact, it smelt worse after they moped the floor, smelt like wet dog. Paying so much money to stay there and yet i get this kind of service. I swear i can do a better job than them if you pay me.

During midday, they would lepak around the halls, sometimes even spotting them lying on the floor

The fact that most of my flatmates are always not around, they would not bother keeping the place clean, they never once swept the floor! Besides that, every night before going to bed, i would switch off the lights. Next morning, the lights in the hall and the toilet was on. They must have left it on throughout the whole morning. Talking about the toilet, imagine whenever i would want to "bake-a-cake", i would be really PISSED! Also, one of them would always leave their laundries around the toilet.

Can't really see the DRIED urine stains on the seat.

"Nothing, been here for almost a week already~"

Insects, all types of 6 to 8 legged creatures,arthropods, you name it. Especially the ants(dedicated a post to them)...

The mattress, i heard they never changed it before. Resulting in me having scars and bite marks all over the body, thanks to the bedmites/bedbugs or whatever insect that bit me.

Semut Man

The halls are managed by two different companies, one is PC and the other is PK. The company managing the Tioman, Langkawi and Redang halls are the pioneers.

Imagine having to pay your rent, you had to queue up, but the hallway is only this long, yet there are only 2 chairs to sit on, YET there is no fan and it's freaking hot, YET they take their own sweet time to collect the rent while enjoying themselves in their cool air-conditioned and comfy office.

I have been to the other two halls managed by the other company only last week. So much better, even their kitchen smells better than my room. So clean and neat, trash bins lining every hallway.

I once kept my apples in the fridge, next day i noticed a few missing. I wrote a note telling them to stop stealing my apples. Next day, everything was gone.

Once bitten, twice shy

Finally an update after so long, been really busy with university, or just too lazy, or because nothing interesting has been happening.

Been reading other people's blog, feeling so much inferior, got me wondering what is the reason i blog.

After pondering for a while, the purpose i blog is so that i can improve my English, i will try to construct proper sentences and improve my vocabulary. Besides that, i just like to put my thoughts into words, probably this will serve like a diary to me(but of course leaving out the juicy stuffs...)

Anyway, the main event that ignited my will to make an update is an incident that happened last two days.

Just like any other Friday, I was taking the KTM back home to Subang from Kajang. Got on to the train and took a seat beside this big guy with a luggage while on my right was a Malay lady wearing a colourful tudung.

Just as the train reached the next stop which was Serdang, just as usual, as the train door slides open, a group of passengers rush in, a bunch of passengers rush out, nothing suspicious.

As soon as the train door closes, i overheard this guy saying:"My phone! Where is my phone?! I think i lost my phone! I LOST MY IPHONE!"

At a glance, this guy was not too tall or not too short, was wearing spectacles and looked like any other Chinese guy. Listening to his accent, probably a foreigner, probably a Myanmar or an Indonesian citizen.

"People was pushing me from behind when i was trying to board the train. Next thing i know, my phone was gone!", the guy said in a panicked tone.

My coursemate was also on board, Ang and his friend Goh. He quickly asked the guy what was his phone number and dialed it right away. I must praise him for his quick thinking and help. The coach was quiet as everybody were listening desperately for the guy's ringtone.

"Please give me back my phone(pfftt... as if they would), I am just a student. The phone is very important to me...", the guy said as he tried to fight his way through the other end of the coach.

Another passenger asked his number and tried to call his phone again. This time, it wasn't ringing anymore. Too late, his phone was gone. The bloody $%&* pick-pocket-er could have already left the train and the train station with a smirk on his face, satisfied with his loot of the day.

The guy was advised to stop at MidValley and head straight to the Maxis centre to suspend his account.

As i looked at the guy's face, he looked worried and sad(who wouldn't, Iphone, ouch), i pity and felt sorry for him. His situation was nothing different from the incident which happened to me last month. I lost my wallet to these bloody %^&*$ pick-pocket-ers.

I was carrying too many luggage as i recalled, I was an easy target. Same situation, boarded the train and next thing i know, my back pocket felt loose and there goes my wallet...

Had to make a police report, remake my IC, remake my student ID, make a few calls... Was carrying very little cash(RM30.35), but the troublesome part was my IC, my ATM card, and my driving license.

Despite the announcers' constant reminders at the train station, despite the notices warning the passengers of the bloody #$%&* pick-pocket-ers(Penyeluk Saku, couldn't remember these Malay words when making report at police station), people just take things for granted.

My mum would always remind me to be mindful with every action. Think before doing anything, think before saying anything. Buddhism also teaches us to be mindful in every action, even during eating as i recalled being a monk when i was younger(it was in Penang, sadly couldn't find the pictures).

In university, people would post up notices saying they have lost their keys, lost their hard drives, thumbdrives, all in the act of carelessness. Just look back everytime you leave, be mindful.

I am a very careless person. To date, i have lost a pair of car keys, a pair of apartment keys, a phone, recently my wallet and more if i could still remember.
So please be careful, be mindful, be aware, be alert when taking our awesome and efficient public transport, whether the bus, train, or taxi.

I know this post is a bit delayed but anyway HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011 everybody! May this year be more exciting, better to me and everybody else!

This year i spent my NYE at Wai Hong's house together with a bunch of friends... All we did was play the PS2, laptop and then we watched Lord Of The Rings : Fellowship Of The Ring. It was like my first time watching it and they couldn't believe it... Saying LOTR is better than HP so much more, i mean everybody has different taste okay... Somemore i didn't have the chance to watch the movie last time eventhough i knew the movie and book existed...

I went back to my secondary school last week to accompany my sis to buy her books.

While she was queuing up, i decided to walk around the school and man... it brought back so much memories...

I tried recalling where was my class located but in the end i just entered one of the classrooms and sat on the chair...

I felt sentimental... i had the sensation as if i was back in school...

Oh how i wished i was back in school...

I could see the blackboard so clearly eventhough i was sitting at the last row...

I could hear what the teacher was saying so loud and clear...

I could ask the teacher any question easily if i didn't understand...

I would not feel too cold(lecture hall damn cold...)

I could rock the chair...

I could look out through the window...

sigh... time sure flies...

It's been two years since i left school...

Nothing IS permanent... remembering the past IS a suffering...

I will always look forward... the path of the future sure is murky, but i will endure and do my best

Ants from hell!

Week 7...

If you didn't know, i have joined 4 societies : Nottingham Buddhist Society, Chemical Engineering Student Society, Basketball Club (who won't?!), and Nature Club

Am quite free most of the time so i decided to be a committee member in most of the clubs, wishing it'll fill up my free time and it's great for my CV next time right...

Been coming back every weekend, still alive although i don't have a laptop there... WHO NEEDS EM? >:(
food over there is okay (i particularly enjoy the oriental food where they sell omelet + "lice" + "fry" + some vege at the side), price normal...

Sports facilities also okay, the only facility i frequently use is the basketball court, haven't been to the gym (i see most of the weights are missing and usually i'll be playing basketball than lifting weights in the evening...), swimming pool (shy la : þ ), football court, squash court, tennis court... been to the badminton court perhaps twice...

As you can see the title of my post... plenty of ants and bugs in my hostel (especially before it's going to rain, mad i tell you...)
I usually have bread for breakfast right, say i have a pack of potato buns... i'd eat half the pack and the rest i'd store the rest in the cupboard... next thing you know, whole thing covered with ants...
so i tried Wai Hong's idea of putting the bread or whatever item on top of a bowl of water... the ants can swim...
so this time i put my bread in the white long transparent plastic bag you usually get at the supermarket, tied a dead knot... next thing you know, the ants bit through the plastic and were enjoying themselves...
imma get myself a container next time... pfftt

3 weeks seems to fly so fast...

started my chemical & environmental engineering at the university of nottingham malaysia campus on the 27th of sept 2010

so far so good, 6 modules : fluid mechanics, engineering mathematics 1, process engineering fundamentals, applied chemistry and physics, introductory chemistry and environmental management.

been coming back home every weekend... source of entertainment at semenyih is strictly limited...

classes are from 9am to 1pm almost everyday(friday 10am to 1pm)...

afternoons spent at the library... evenings at the basketball court...

hope to make more friends... been quite lonely for the past few weeks...

may everything go well... may i not fall in sleep in class again : þ

never had such a long holiday before... been 2 months already, feels weird not to go to school or college, rotting away at home.

well, not exactly.

worked at dad's exhibition during Pets World Malaysia 2010 at MidValley near end of June

been watching some great movies (INCEPTION was the best, 2nd place falls to Toy Story 3, Salt is a waste of time)

went to Penang for internship, plant tissue culture (one of my dads' exhibitor intro...) for a week
i've learnt quite a bit but i have to say my supervisor sucks, mostly labour work and i'm not paid
but i get to "learn" more about plant tissue culture, what an eye opener...

the plants i sub-cultured, hoping that they do not contaminate and are able to grow healthily
sub-culturing is sort of like cuting out small pieces from Big Mother Plant and replanting
all these plants survive without water and air thanks to the medium which these plants are grown in (the gel at the bottom of the bottle which contains nutrients and all the necessary elements)
all these were done in the Transfer Room where i had to wear protective goggles, hair net, gloves and face mask.
had to burn the forceps and knife before cutting, spray 90% alcohol around the table, kills the bacterias at the surrounding
these plants are 99.99% sterile, bacteria-free...IF
"you follow the protocol carefully!", as said by my supervisor, pfftt...

woke up at 4am, got ready and left subang at 5am
reached nottingham university around 5.45am
started climbing at 6am from bottom of Broga Hill

the climb up Broga Hill is something like life
you have to work hard to reach your goal
along the journey, there is bound to be many obstacles
it was dark, the torch lights we had are like TEACHERS or HELPERS along our journey who lights the way for us, guide us
it was slippery, along our way to the TOP we may SLIP and FALL
there are crossroads along our way, DISTRACTIONS that will lead us to DEADENDS

luckily we have friends to help us sometimes, friends you can count on, friends that will help you up when you fall, friends that will always be on your back

after reaching the TOP, we enjoy our reward, the cold wind blowing in your face, the nice scenery, you are a step above the rest (Sausage McMuffin was good, our breakfast we tapao-ed)
you are tired, you are sweaty but you are happy, its worth it (we were out of our breaths)
you can still go higher, go further to explore, its up to you whether you want to push yourself to the limit (we didn't go further, there was another path to Gunung Tuk Wan or something)

it was way faster going down than coming up, it was easier to fall, be careful, don't be too proud, don't show off, focus

definitely wanted to take more photos, other people were equipped with expensive cameras, snapping here and there
don't be jealous, you don't need a DSLR to take a good picture, be grateful with what you have, be thankful...

last paper physics 5... screwed the planning one...(practically screwed most of the other papers as well)
no point crying over split milk

there are so many things i wanna say but most of them forgotten due to the bloody, draggy A2 exam...

firstly, bloody A2 exam drag so long. i had a 2 week interval before the next exam. you think it's good but i tend to slack when i know i have 2 weeks before the next paper

secondly, i haven't watched IronMan2 or IPman2 yet... anybody boleh pinjam DVD or pendrive... don't mind watching on the comp

thirdly, my phone survived after taking a bath. it all happened the day i was taking my bio 5 exam. was waiting for my friend to pick me up. mum asked me to help *pick* some mango which is hanging on top of our fishpond. stupid slippers had no grip and i slipped while stepping on the rock. stood in the water, dumbfounded. soon i came to realise my phone and wallet was in my pocket. quickly came out of the pond and tried to save the phone. it was already vibrating and i took the battery out. contained the phone in a bag of rice overnight, then vacumn to suck out most of the water. voila~ everything was okay except LED spoilt, and SKY say it will crash after the next 2 weeks or so... well let's see.

fourthly(is there such word?), one of the reason i had to blog, there was some stupid bloody mouse in the exam hall, making that striking squeeking noise every 10 minutes or so. FUCKing annoying. remembered clearly another incident long time ago when i was having accounts exam. some asshole whose nose kept running and he didn't have a tissue. so he sniffed, and sniffed, and sniffed throughout the exam. fuck go get a bloody tissue la... am i being too sensitive?

fifthly(whatever), others are gonna enjoy their holiday having fun, going for trips, hanging out and so on... i have to work for my dad the next thing in the morning (it's already 2am). Exhibition is coming up soon and he is lacking *leg-hand*. not to say i'm an asshole who doesn't want to help his dad but... can i have a break?

well... what inspired me to write this post is because i want to educate my fellow friends(and classmates) about what they need to know about... FARTS

WHERE does fart comes from?
It comes from the gas in our stomach mostly made up of swallowed air or certain chemical reactions by bacterias in our gut that produces this gas in our intestines.

WHAT is fart gas made up of?
Mostly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, methane gas. The proportions of these gases that comes out of our HOLE depends on several factors : how much air we swallowed, what we ate, what kind of bacteria we have in our intestines.

WHAT makes fart STINKS?(this is interesting!)
The odor of farts comes from small amounts of hydrogen sulfide gas and mercaptans in the mixture. The more sulfur-rich your diet, the more sulfides and mercaptans will be produced by the bacteria in your guts, and the more your farts will stink.
Egg, meat and cauliflower causes SMELLY farts, while beans produces MUCH but not stinky farts.

Thanks to bacterial action, bacterial fermentation and digestion, heat is produced together with other metabolic wastes as well as various pungent gases. These emerge as the notorious, warm, SBD (Silent-But-Deadly), often in amounts too small to produce a good sound, but excelling in stench.

WHY do fart makes noise?
Due to the vibrations of our anal opening. It is also due to the velocity of expulsion of the gas as well as the tightness of the muscles of the anus. (So maybe his butt muscles are kinda relaxed thus producing SBD farts *o* )

HOW long does it take a fart gas to travel to a person's nose?
Depends of several factors such as atmospheric pressure, humidity, temperature and wind speed and direction, the molecular weight of the fart particles, and the distance between the fart-er and the fart receiver. Fart can also disperse and dilute in the air.

the jam these days are terrible...
bloody traffic jams around taylors and summit...
every morning wake up with bright spirits...
sit in the car for an hour due to bloody jam, all spirits gone...
will actually cut short our lives for a few years...

ever wondered why is it called Happy New Year, Happy Birthday, Happy this happy that...
not like we wanted it to be sad but why can't it be like Xciting! New Year or maybe Joyful New Year? (still having the Xcite! bug in me...)

anyway... New Year's Eve was a bit boring and not as Xciting! as i thought it would be...
spent NYE at Darren's house watching Paranormal Activity with a bunch of people... seriously that show is not that creepy (maybe cause we were watching in a group and all those noises they keep making...)

i Xpected something like a little party where we chatted or played some games and start countdown-ing before the new year arrives...
instead we just paused the movie for awhile, stood up, heard some fireworks outside, greeted HAPPY NEW YEAR! to everybody and then continued watching the bloody movie...how awesome is that?...

well... it's just another year only what... nothing much...

went swimming just now at the club... i wasn't feeling out of breath but my arm and leg muscles was giving way... did a few laps and i was giving up already...
saw this little girl (maybe 8 yrs old) and she swam like MANY MANY laps...
she didn't stop at all... she did all swimming styles... she was a PRO... at such a young age...
i got discouraged... swam 1 more lap and i gave up...

This New Year's Resolution...
1. don't get jealous over people's achievement and give up easily
2. be more mindful and focused
3. to join the next Xcite! Incovar camp (lol...)
4. be more decisive

i can't think of anything else...

what can i say about this camp (abit of amazing race inside as well)... AWESOME!
had fun WALKING so much...
had fun of limited sleeping...

actually i really am grateful of all the experience i gained in this camp...
taking the bus and train... traveling around Malaysia (KL, Klang, Pulau Ketam, Malacca)
i never get to do these... seriously...
meeting and talking to many different people...
getting out of the comfort of my home...

so we stopped in front of school and helped him change his tyres...

ahh... feels good to be connected again...
have been grounded for close to a week and it's a long story...

Last Saturday stayed overnight at my parents apartment at PD

on the way stopped by at Seremban for some siew pao... YUMMY!

reached there and cleaned up abit...
found out that the TV cannot be used so the PS2 was a waste of space...
in the evening went down the beach to play awhile before it started raining...

somebody wrote this, not me...

so we decided to go to the supermarket to do some more shopping for our dinner... yeap u guessed it... BBQ!

the rain subsided as we came back so we went down again and it was around 7pm i guessed?

started the fire and went into the sea once again...

soon night had fallen and luckily i had with me a small lamp because the whole place was PITCH BLACK!

me and calvin trying to dig a hole but failed...

to infinite... and BEYOND! (lay wing)

after enjoying our lovely dinner... consisted of chicken, sausages, sand...
went back upstairs to clean up and we had nothing else to do...
so we played cards... specifically Chor Dai Dee...
and yeah it started getting bored... so we decided to GAMBLE!
finished only around 3am i think? calvin was sleeping soundly inside because he's not a fan of chor dai dee...

i forgotten i left the apartment key in my pocket and jumped into the sea... wrong move!

after around 15minutes of excitement in the water... i stood up and felt my pockets for the key... GREAT i lost it!

i really wished i were...

all 5 of us... shirt and pants wet... we went to the office for help
it was a sunday but luckily maintanence guy was still working...
helped us "break in"...
now only wooden door left but no grill door... not so safe anymore??
called my dad and told him the incident and all he said was "fei chang hao!..." and the call was cut...

we packed up and left around 2pm (i forgotten...) with a boot full of our stuffs and a TV on my lap... (no "protection" ma...) *AIDS day was just a few days ago...*

so that explains why i was grounded for hmm... let's say 6 days?
couldn't go out and no internet connection...
and i finally watched the movies in my comp and also read the book "A Walk To Remember"...

after 6 weeks... AS exam is finally over...
overall i think i didn't do quite well... drag till so long... very sien wan ahh...
today was last paper was Chemistry Paper 1
straight after that went Sunway Lagoon to release stress if that's the word for it...

lucas, natasha, charmaine, clifford, chuan hao, Eugene, Hwei², Shu Kai, Ian, Mun Wai

quite expensive for two parks (wet & dry) RM36 + RM10 as deposit
now we are supposed to wear wrist watches (not really a watch, just something to strap on that looks like a typical watch...) provided by them to get in the themepark...
upon return of the wristwatch we get our RM10 deposit back...

but as i was walking out themepark the staff said we can switch the wrist watch for a Sunway Lagoon watch...
she was smilling and said "sir, u can switch the wrist watch for a new watch... FOR FREEEEEEE!"
i was like "wow?! so good ah can get free watch??"

so i chose the watch of my favourite colour and switched with the staff and was quite happy with this new watch in my hand...
my friends told me in order to get back the RM10 deposit we had to return that so called wrist watch...

so i went back and returned the "free" watch
good marketing technique eh? (or maybe i'm just the fool...)
*nothing is free in this world fool...* =(

ah forget it... but it was quite boring except for the Tomahawk as it was my first time on that ride eventhough i had been to lagoon once...
i remembered it just like it was yesterday(one of the quotes from spongebob squarepants cartoon if u'd notice...)...

i was supposed to go onto that ride right after the spinning cup ride (which is one of my worst nightmares)
sat with Harry(you-know-who...) and he kept spinning and spinning and spinning @@@@
i couldn't stand it and i felt like vomiting but i couldn't... was really "san-fu" so i didn't try the tomahawk and rested on the bench but it was also a lucky choice as one of my friends vomited and the person sitting behind him had some good splashing... eww? yes pink shirt guy up there ^

was super hungry... since when did the "no-water" rule oso started in lagoon??
emptied my bottle and had to throw away the two still-good sandwitch away before entering...

Whole day kept eating... eating and non stop eating...

Morning had breakfast at Puchong... Axian Dim Sum...
the dim sum was superb... organic pork and it was better than the one at USJ 22
as well as the price... quite expensive but that's what u get for quality

since it was a late breakfast... guessed we skipped lunch...
visited me mum's godmother and she made these wonderful fruitcakes... secret is the brandy in it...

took a 45 minute ride to the ulu place... (it's somewhere called Ulu Ara if not mistaken)
had to endure his reckless driving...
had to look out for a bloody small cockroach i remember seeing...

i remember doing the parking.... once finished the lady came and ask me am i done... i saw my butt nearly touching the line... so i said "boleh ulang sekali??"

i took one more glance at my butt and the position of the car and i raised my hand...
she slowly takes one of the pole and move it along the white line... at first the pole touched the right mirror...
"nah nampak tak... dah kena..."
den moves the pole sommore to the back... PHEW... i was safe
she say it was okay...

but...
i failed on the road...
so far i never Died before... i also forgotten how did it happen... was too pissed to remember
i think i was driving quite fast... went down the slope and i couldn't really control the steering and i was out of the line... by abit~ but still... i end up stopping by the roadside... exchanged places with that fat ass (yeah he was damn fat and his leg kept hitting the gear...)
on the way back... "tengok... perlu steady tau... tak boleh suka suka pusing wheel tau..." (yeah i admit i am bad at steering the wheel... but i just kept quiet... i felt bad for failing...)

and bloody instructor said... "told you already... i know the outcome already... no need to discuss about it already la... you don't give him sweet is like that de lor... you see la the next one also sure the same thing..."

no matter what... i'm not gonna PAO... jiak sai~

the visitors seldom use the loading bay, so that entrance was pretty dead compared to the front entrance where people many people were busy trying to get a ticket.

having 2 weeks of semester break...
been working for the past one week...
helping dad in data entry... nothing but typing company names, phone numbers and adresses

i woke up this morning and i saw black clouds in the sky...
and i thought..."yay... it's gonna rain today..."

i used to have this happy feeling... exciting feeling because it's gonna rain in the morning...
then when i'm in school... i'll be able to enjoy the breeze rolling by... the wind blowing in your face... i used to sit by the window... or maybe hang around the corridor just to enjoy the wind... it feels so good... classes wouldn't feel that boring anymore...

but ever since going to college... i missed that feeling... i don't get to feel the wind again...
now we have air conditioners in college... it's cold...
but the feeling when the wind blows at you... is totally different...

last thursday little NS boy came back for easter...
actually planned to go lagoon or PAINballing but it was all NATO...
jeff's other main reason was to go to KTAR for enquiries...

Friday:
was supposed to continue the A-Levels bball tournament...
thought it was gonna be a nice weather but it rained like cats and dogs...
my team started to play first and after 3 minutes of play it rained so heavily they had to cancel it...
another sad thing is the committee had to finalise the score because prize giving ceremony was on that day as well... so... was FORCED to get 3rd place... eventhough i had confidence in getting 1st...

Saturday:
woke up around 10am by jeff ringing in... Azmi took me for breakfast at Weng Soon with Wai Hong, Jeff and Julian...
Jeff n Azmi came my house for awhile before heading back to azmi's house in a hurry as he wasn't supposed to be fetching 2 innocent people with an L licence...

And our journey begins...

walked to USJ 14 n waited for bus to Carrefour... bought some ice cream as we didn't have ice cream for a long already... seriously... forgotten when was the last
bus came and we couldn't ride the bus as we were eating ice cream >.< (who's idea was it?? HarrY? LOL)

at carrefour took another bus to Kelana Jaya LRT station...
bought ticket to Wangsa Maju...
it's been long since i sat on a train...
train was good... we had place to sit...
by the time reached KLCC... train started to fill up as more people were returning from PC fair
Azmi the good samaritian offered his seat to an elderly woman whom was heading a stop further than ours... man we're so proud of u...
the air cond was cold... nice sceneries... too bad no camera to take pictures...sigh...

1.5 hours later we reached Wangsa Maju...
administration office was closed after 1pm and we were there at 3pm...great?!
HarrY blamed my bro for not telling him... this resulted in a chokeslam by my bro as he said he already reminded HarrY...

hungry and tired after taking a small tour ourselves around the campus... we had our late lunch at the cafeteria...
food was so cheap and good... but my bro says after eating will lao sai...so far no lao sai?~!
bro decided to follow us home so we went back his the hostel and checked the place out...
gathered some stuffs before taking another bus to the LRT station again...

thought we were gonna take the same route back home but... NO!
stopped at Pasar Seni to wait for bus...
if i'm not mistaken used to be my maid's hangout spot...
we waited for one bloody hour... man mountain man sea... so many people~

finally our bus came and we were supposed to fight our way in or not u get left behind and nobody gives a damn...
there was this old foreigner who was there waiting since we arrived...
he didn't make it...
we made our way in the bus already but poor old man was knocking and shouting from outside the already locked bus door...
nothing we can do but stare at the sad sight...
on the way home... we saw many of the bus we were supposed to take on the opposite side of the road... so i guess poor old man didn't have to wait long

what a day it was...
we may have spent alot of money... we may have wasted our time... BUT the trip to KL was a great experience... wanna go again??(HarrY... Azmnn... GeneZ)

it's been long since i updated... no idea what to write... no pics to post...
finally today something really awesome inspired me to update my blog...

as u look at my post title u may not understand what it means...
it's a long story and i will get to that later...

anyway today Sunway College organised a Math & Logic Competition in collaboration with A levels
we A Levelians had to help out...
i was an examiner... what i did was:
1.stand beside n award 2 points for each correct answer
2.collect used paper after each questions...
3.raise the red flag provided if any doubt or cheating takes place...(didn't use it at all... damn)

i was appointed to SMJK Sam Tet... its a school from Ipoh...
they got 1st runner-up...cool! (Catholic HS got 1st place)
i saw some of the questions and i feel so dumb right now...

yadiyadiyada... time for lunch!
gathered in a room for chicken lice...
then we started using the phrase Like Nine...
laughed n nearly chocked...
since that moment we all got HIGH just because of that phrase...
i really missed this kind of moment where u laugh till ur abs hurt...
everybody got so addicted to it... related anything that happened to that phrase...

for example: "Hey why u laugh until... LIKE NINE like that..."

Thanks to either Kah Hwa or Bryan (my classmates/the originators of LIKE NINE)... we had a really good laugh~

*if u didn't know... LIKE NINE means "like dog" if pronounced in cantonese or hokkien =þ

Just finished watching slumdog millionaire...
ok ok la the show... 2 hours~ i'm a very bad movie reviewer...
anyway SPOILER ALERT!

best scene : when Jamal jumps into the shit pile to get his idol's autograph... = þ (they don't have toilets... they squat in a hut n shit down the hole into the river or some contaminated pond... he was locked in the hut)
kidding about the best scene part...

hate the scene where the so-called good fellar blinded the kid's eyes...
the shows good and it's quite hard to understand what their saying sometimes... it's english but... you know... Indian Accent~

i wish i could... if only we didn't have to sleep...
just like robots... or non-living things...
i feel that sleeping is a waste of time...
of course i know it's essential...
sleeping is when our body recharges... our body grows... our cells regenerate...
if only i could get rid of "sleepiness"...
we could achieve so many things...

maybe because i wish i could have more time...

went 1U n there was this "Love Test" machine...

reached school damn early... around 9.30am

saw a notice saying results only coming out at 10.30am...
missed the school food PRICE but not the school food... of course i missed the fishcake~

i didn't look at my slip straight away... i took it from teacher and went to a corner...
covered it with the school magazine i just received... slowly slide the magazine down... as if i was playing blackjack... PIK-CHA!

not bad la... didn't expect much... but of course i'm glad...
but somehow i just feel abit unsatisfied... i feel emotionless...
it's just a bloody piece of slip... nothing much...

people cried(dowanna mention who... clue is that fellar belanja-ed us starbucks...will elaborate more later...)

people were angry/emo(somebody wanted to punch me when i asked him how he did... what's the freaking problem?)

had mentor-mentee session yesterday with Miss See... whom is our math teacher as well...
for the whole one hour she talked about Lelationships(relationships la...)
very nice teacher~ cheerful and dedicated...
she talked about how her husband chased her last time...
we were free to spill our stories and ask her questions regarding lelationships...

currently she is taking masters in phsycology at UM so talking about relationships was her cup of tea...
she also gave us an article talking about being an INTROVERT or an EXTROVERT
i guess i am an introvert... or maybe half half la...

everyday wake up 6am... come home from college at 5.30pm... 1 full day...(of course except thu n fri...)

Haven't been to college yesterday and today...
I AM SICK!
having high fever...
Tuesday after coming back from college... i was feeling alright...
when i was having dinner... i felt kinda weird and i was only eating a bowl of rice...
i hit the sack and was convinced i had fever...
first time in my life sleeping at 8pm...
skipped college the next day... i had bio test on that day =)

i felt so weak... i felt everything started to slow down... i felt dizzy... headache... it really sucks
my mum was like "see i told u already... sleep late sommore... not enuff sleep... sommore go play basketball... i told u already... i told........................."

i've learnt my lesson...
1)never sleep late and please have more rest
i usually sleep at 12.30am, waking up at 6.15am... 1 full day of college till 5pm...
2)ur not as strong as u think
u may think ur strong but the viruses are stronger...
3)these advises are meant for myself...

skipping 2 days of college means i've to catch up two days of homework and lessons...
