You-Turn
Attended Nottingham Buddhist Society(NBS)'s 2nd Annual Camp - You-Turn, last Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
It was held at Samadhi Vihara, Shah Alam.(relatively new temple, part of it still under construction)
Had fun being part of the committees.
Tiring but worth it(although i didn't do most of the work)
Learnt more about the Dhamma
Learnt more about people's behaviors
Learnt to speak better with other people
The camp wouldn't have happened without the committees' hard work and dedication, i thank you all for making this a success.
I noticed there were some unhappy committees due to some miscommunications, but this is part of life, part of the learning curve.
Like how Sze Wei(founder of the society) said, "this will be a platform for you to perform, to learn and conduct mistakes..." Because when you start working in a bigger company in the real life, you may face problems like these, probably even bigger and complicated problems.
All i can say is that i was careless enough to misbehave during one of the events and this resulted in some trashing during the nightly meeting. I have truly learnt my lesson and will be more mindful next time.
Sometimes you can't let the world spin around you, you can't always have things going your way. Sometimes people are so stubborn to stick to their own plans and never accept your opinions. It's their loss, they will never learn.
Brother Tan Huat Chye(very good speaker who gave a talk at the camp) said, we should never make other people unhappy, we should tolerate, co-operate, help each other, so that we can gain each others' blessings.
Very important, just like how you would need to gain your parents' blessings in the future when you have a girlfriend or boyfriend. If you don't receive their blessings, the relationship won't go smoothly.
