Yiruma Live In Malaysia 2015
Last week, I took mum to attend Yiruma's concert at KLCC Plenary hall.
The hall was packed.
I saw many people, mostly couples, and it was a treat to my eyes, if only I could...
Anyway the performance started at approximately 8.30pm, lasted all the way till 10pm.
Can't remember how many pieces he played, but it was really enjoyable.
Yiruma even did an impromptu play with the assistance of an audience (she used to be a freelance harpist).
He asked her to play 3 notes, and from there he improvised and played a song on the spot.
Such talent, much envy.
The song was called "Green Something", just because.
And Yiruma jokingly said he will be using that piece in his next album.
I wanted to take more pictures but the hall staffs were like eagles preying on its preys.
Eversince I started playing Yiruma's two most famous pieces - Kiss The Rain and River Flows In You, at home on the piano, mum kept requesting me to play them and that was when she started to like Yiruma.
I have never heard of him and his songs before.
It all happened back when I was doing my A Levels at Sunway College.
I had a classmate - Jess, who accidentally printed out extra sheets of the "Kiss The Rain" score sheet. She intended to print for her friend.
Since I was nearby, she asked me whether I wanted them.
I thought:"sure why not, free stuff, might as well take it home and try playing it."
First thing after getting home from college, I tried playing the first page.
Obviously, it was shit.
So I looked up the internet to hear how the music sounds like.
I found it very calming and enjoyable and I decided to practise playing that song.
I also played River Flows In You. It was much easier to play compared to Kiss The Rain.
And until today, I still have trouble playing the song perfectly. I'm a useless piece of shhhh
