Musical

Image
Who doesn't like musicals must be out of their mind. Musicals are like short plays or sketches which involves music, acting, dancing, and singing. Performers performing in their beautiful designed costumes, singing gleeful songs accompanied by a live orchestra, dancing gracefully to the tune; attending a musical has always been a pleasure. Being an avid fan of musicals(fine maybe not so avid), I wondered what was it like to be on stage, singing and dancing. All the performers look so happy, smiles across their faces, doesn't it make you want to smile as well? Musicality, a society here at the UK campus were looking for performers for their upcoming musical, "Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical". I thought this was a great opportunity for me to experience what it felt like to be performing in a musical, they never have this society back in Malaysia. I took the leap of faith - I auditioned for a role. Well, to be honest, I couldn't really sing. I was ner...

Autumn

Image
Autumn - pleasant yet beautiful If only there was somebody to share with Well, it used to be Virgo. But soon He learnt to grow out of it, due to distance and miscommunication. So cold, so far away, He didn't know much about Virgo, He wanted to know more, but He couldn't. He didn't try hard enough. Then, it was Taurus. Who He had no interest in the beginning. He knew He didn't have the chance, Taurus was already picked. No intention. Constant meeting, chatting and talking. The water slowly took its shape, Heartstrings were pulled. Constant pushing and pestering, the water flowed down the valley. Misunderstanding, naive, weak, virgin. The ship sank, a barrier built, spilt milk everywhere. Why initially? Desperation? Naive? Confused? Immature. Definitely.

Goose Fair

Image
Nottingham City Centre I wonder when will I go watch a theater, I HAVE TO! Legend has it that it comes from the hundreds of geese, which were at one time driven from Lincolnshire and Norfolk to be sold in Nottingham... ( link ) Went to the Goose Fair last weekend with housemates and coursemates. To sum it all up, it is a very huge pasar malam-fun fair FAIR. The fair lasted for 3 days if I am not mistaken. It was such a beautiful day, clear skies and no rain, the pictures tell it all. Candies... Candies Everywhere! There were many vendors selling all kinds of food: steamed peas, chips(french fries), hotdogs, pancakes, candies, pork burgers, chinese noodles(something like our fried yellow mee), and much more food, in which if I would to continue listing them down, I would have to go downstairs and fix myself some supper. Pork Scatchings? Tempted to buy and try it, but 5 pounds for just a small bag. Probably next time. Talking about the Fun...

Nottingham, United Kingdom

Image
20/9/12 14 hours later, I have finally arrived here at UK. It was a long and tiring journey, but the view from the plane window was worth it, literally had me off my seats. It has been 10 years since I last sat on a plane, long forgotten how it felt like to travel on a plane. Well, it's cold here, one of the reasons I like it here. Back in Malaysia, it's HOT, HOT & HOT all year long. Sometimes the weather can be so unpredictable. At one point, it would be sunny, and then it will suddenly start to drizzle and rain the whole day, mood-killer. And the fact that my jacket is not waterproof, I would be    wet by the time I enter the lecture hall. Will have to find myself either a raincoat or an umbrella before I get sick from the cold. Me & Andy in front of the Faculty of Engineering, where most of our lectures would take place Have been walking around alot lately. No car means more walking. The campus is huge. Nottingham University has 3 campuse...

Gone In September

Image
Come September I'll be Gone... Gone... Gone... By the time this post is out, I'll be on the plane to UK, leaving Malaysia, leaving my family and friends, leaving the warmth of my home. Although I will be there only for less than a year, I'm sure time will pass slowly when I'm missing home. I will: get used to the cold and dry climate over there(lips will crack, skin will peel, hopefully less pimple) meet many other people live independently and learn to take care of myself learn to be more mindful of my actions learn to be more organised learn to be a stronger and tougher person be a better chef : þ gain invaluable experiences gain weight?(I'm okay with my weight and size, probably a little bigger would be better) update my blog often(I'll try...) and the list goes on and on. . . GOODBYE MALAYSIA! HELLO UNITED KINDGOM : ) Oh BTW, HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY TO MYSELF~!

Internship

Image
(30/8/12) 3 months has indeed passed so fast, my internship at Techkem has finally ended. I am glad that I can finally stay at home and rot(okay maybe I don't...), but part of me is not willing to leave the office that I have been comfortable with for the past 3 months. Met and finally got to know my awesome colleagues even more and I have to leave already. Life is always like that, ain't it? Me, Avalyn, Jess. Taken at the Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia(CCBM),  Bandar Enstek, Nilai. Me and Zaki inspecting a pressure vessel at Kelantan. My internship here at Techkem has been a wonderful experience(if you mean sitting at the office most of the time doing some typing, facebook, 9gag...). If I'm not at the office, I would be at the plant sites conducting visits, or I would be outside running some errands. No doubt I have learnt a thing or two during my internship. Everybody have been saying to enjoy my study life while I can, because once we start worki...
